A "Modern" Country Estate

In 1857 David Bryce was commisioned to design a new Craigends House. To accomodate his grand design the landscape of the estate was altered. The OS maps below (1857 and 1897) show the change that took place. Most significantly, you can see that the other estate buildings were resituated at greater distance to the mansion.
